Title: thinking about buying a unit
Post by: dragonsfire24ss on October 27, 2010, 08:52:53 PM
First off, I would like to put out there that I own a 2006 cobalt SS with the 2.4L ecotec. I installed a supercharger kit off the actual cobalt SS that came supercharged from the factory. I was gonna buy an MSD Dash Hawk but they are discontinued and from what I've heard tech support is completely gone for them. There are two things that I'm looking at the most that I really would like it to display.... one is intake air temp which I see it supports, and the second is knock retard which I don't see that it supports. Is there a way yall can add that to the parameters later on with some research.

While there is no standardized "Knock retard" parameter, there is "Timing Advance", which provides the timing in degrees relative to the #1 cylinder.   The value can range from -64 to +63 degrees in half degree increments.  Once you are familiar with the typical Timing advance for your vehicle, you can easily spot when the timing is be retarded.  Timing Advance is commonly supported by most vehicles

Sounds good, and if I'm not satisfied with the product or if it doesn't work with my car can I return it?
