clicked on the link to the manual, scrolled down and, by gum, it IS there in the new manual... good to see. When I clicked on the link it must have been before the new manual was posted.  Either that or I was getting a cached version on my computer.

After step TWO, it should read EXIT MENU MODE...  The UG will NOT calculate anything while in menu mode....

I looked at the "NEW" manual and they still have not added that very important step....  ah yes, progress.

Be carefull about over filling your gas tank. Many newer vehicles have a charcoal canister as part of their EVAP system. If you over fill the gas tank, you may flood the canister and make it inoperative, resulting in your CEL (light) coming on. Replacing a charcoal canister ain't cheap. 

I can understand why the more miles traveled during calibration, the more "accurate" the reading will be, but don't at all understand why driving 70 mph will give a more accurate reading than going 50 mph....  would be nice if our administrator here might shed some light on that.

on the other hand, the UG has become a terrific addition to my Sienna!!

First, you might check your actual tank specs online. Just to make sure. 

Second, show your gallons used on the UG.  When you fill up from a previous fill up, you can then see how accurate the UG is... there is a way to calibrate your UG, which I've already done and found the default UG settings to be under-reporting fuel usage by about .058 percent.  For relative accuracy use the same pump. You should also calibrate your miles.  Then you will be getting a accurate actual fuel usage.

Since there seem to be a number of users who experience this "feature"  ;D with their UG....  a modification of the users manual with "Exit Menu Mode" inserted in the appropriate locations...  (i.e....  between #2 and 3) would save a lot of frustration.

Just to update this issue... I also placed the "trip miles" guage on my page 1 and have had no problems since.  Perhaps a "bug" in the software?

My Page 1 set up is:

6 gauge screen

1- Instant MPG (large)
2- Short Trip MPG (large) shows me a quick average
3- Short Trip Gallons Used - how many gal to make this trip (a bit depressing at $3.75 gal).
4 - Average MPG  Gen - average overall  (you can watch ShorT Trip/MPG effect Avg MPG
5- Fuel level - my gauges are sooooo off.
6- Distance to empty -  self evident / or maybe Short Trip G/H

This is going to be my "standard" screen, when not playing with the SG.  Gives me a running fuel count at a glance.

I am having the exact same issue...  followed the manual EXACTLY quite a few times.... even drove 5 miles for one attempt.

**** Calibration can not be performed unless a distance of at least 4 Kilometers or 2.5 miles have been driven. ****
To perform the distance calibration follow this procedure:
1. Align front tire with first mile marker
2. Reset the trip gauges: MENU  Gauge Menu  Zero All Trip
3. Travel to the next mile marker, aligning the front tire to the mile marker
4. Select: Menu  Vehicle Setup  Calibration  Calibrate Distance
5. Change the value shown to 1.000 miles*, using the UP and DOWN keys
6. Press Menu to save and set the calibration
Once saved, the calibration factor will be displayed at the bottom of the display.

The only way I was able to set the distance was to  "Reset the UG to all defaults and restart.  I did this at mile 0, drove two miles and then set the distance to two miles.... the distance readings on the UG are still slightly off (reading slightly more miles that actually driven) from my GPS and the road mile markers.... There seems to be no way to adjust this a bit up or down, which is unfortunate.  I will try adding a "miles traveled" guage to see if that helps....

Do you mean DTE?  Was the car idling?  It is surprising how much fuel is used during idle, at least in my car.

Don't really want to use the windshield mount that came with my UG em.  A well made mount but very conspicuous and needs glass to adhere to so it must be above your dash.

Ordered a Verizon Universal Phone Mount...

It PERFECTLY fits out of the box, into the UG slot on the UG mounting bracket if you still want to use it.
But if you use the phone bracket plate (which is only slightly larger than the UG) you can SQUEEZE the corners to advance the UG pages or go to the MENU, just like some have suggested using spacers behind a velcro mount, but this way you don't even need spacers.... works great.

Has a good vent mount bracket option and a much smaller Adhesive mount bracket should you want to try other locations.

It's almost like it was made for the UG.

Verizon sells it for $20 but Amazon has it for around $5...  A perfect alternative!

2003 Sienna XLE with MAF read by UG.

1-  After reading the docs (yes I did), I'm still a bit confused on the MAF 1 and 2 settings   MAF 1 is raw data, MAF2 is "calculated" MAF....  seems to suggest I should only monitor MAF 1 since MAF 2 is "calculated" from other sensors if no MAF is OBD II is reported.  Is this correct?

2-  Might be an idea to offer a vent mount for the SG.  That octopus comming off the windshield needs an alternative.  ;D
