Transmission temperature
« on: November 16, 2010, 01:16:12 PM »
I'll place my order for an Ultra-Gauge as soon as it can show the trans temp on my 2008 Ford F-350.   Are there any plans to add this feature?  If so, when?

Since there has been no response to my question, I'll assume the answer is NO.  I used a Scan-Guage on my last trip towing my travel trailer to Colorado and like seeing an actual readout vs. the stock guage on my truck.   I like the Ultra-Guage better because of the additional features (alarms and interior temperature) and that more than 4 guages are showing at all times.   The lack of the trans temp readout is a deal breaker for me.  I'll continue to check back to see if anyone posts an answer to my question.

There are plans to add  manufacturer gauges such as Trans temp.   However, it will not be for several months

It would be similar to the current process for upgrading Classics to EMs.

For us truck guys, it seems the trans temp update is a big one for us.  Do you have a timeline for when this will be released?

Sorry, there as yet is no release date.   The best guess would be Summer.

When new gauges are added, can the user do a firmware update to bring the new gauges online? Or will the unit have to be returned for factory service in order to enable new gauges?

I agree tranny temp is important. I would also like to see oil temp. However, I do not know what info is in the Honda OBDII data stream.
