Timing Advance Readings
« on: June 17, 2011, 10:26:32 AM »
My UltraGuage reports my 2003 Ford Focus regularly has 40 - 60 degrees of timing advance in normal operating conditions.  This can't be correct.  Why would it give me this reading?

Otherwise, I love this product.

Thanks,
Eric

That gauge like many of the engine parameter gauges, is passed directly from your vehicle's ECM unaltered and displayed.

Thanks for your response.  Can you suggest any reason why the ECM measurement could be such a distorted value?  I can't believe these degrees of advance values are correct because my engine runs beautifully.

Thanks again,
Eric
