Operating Temperature
« on: January 18, 2012, 12:30:01 PM »
Hi,

I was looking through the User Manual and found out that the MAX operating temp for the Ultra Gauge is 160F or 71C in my country.

As the summers in Australia are pretty terrible and I do not have a sheltered parking at my work place, I was wondering if the UG would be able to take the heat of about 50C sitting on the dash in a hot summer day? My ipod touch's screen was damaged in those heat by my negligence =(

Thanks!!

LCDs actually contain a liquid.  As the temperature increases the liquid expands.  At some point the liquid will expand to the point that it will break the seals and the LCD will be destroyed.  Use of a sun shade dash protector is not only recommended for UG, but also will protect your vehicles interior.
